Hi, my name is Nicholas Guitard and welcome to Waterfalls of New Brunswick. I am an amateur photographer who enjoys the outdoors and photography. Capturing our natural world through the lens of a camera is one of my keen interest and so I decided to develop this website to share the numerous beautiful waterfalls in Canada’s Picture Province. I truly believe we are not a drive “thru” province, but a haven of natural beauty for all to enjoy.

My backdrop is Mary Pitcher Falls which flows south easterly into the Big Salmon River. I would suggest that it maybe the highest waterfall in New Brunswick.

Truly amazing and surreal. Your walking and your sense of “quiet” lead you to beautiful places.

The images of Howland Falls bring back memories of smells and the damp canyon that holds the falls. The walk down to the falls is steep…the walk up seems even steeper. If you don’t mind the rough walking over slick rocks, the trout are waiting downstream. Roaring from the boiling falls cover all civilized sounds and sometimes the sounds of some wild company. I remember casting a difficult fly and when I turned to watch the back cast finding a coyote eyeing me from a steep hill ten or twelve feet above. Didn’t hear a thing.

    Fall Brook Falls - Miramichi

Beautiful photos ! Your website is wonderful ! I have forwarded the website link to several of my friends.
I have visited these falls several times and they are spectactular. They are a hidden Miramichi treasure. You may also want to visit Trout Brook Falls which are located just down river on the right side. We stopped there while canoeing the Miramichi and it was about a 20-30 min. walk up the brook.

    Thanks for sharing your photos!

nicholas, this is the software program that I use to stitch photographs together. roxio photo suite 7 , can be purchased at most software stores ,it is inexpensive and will give you a whole new dimention especially where a one shot just wont do the job.one can stand in one spot and do a 360 horizontally and 180 vertically.

I started taking WF pictures a couple of years ago. There’s nothing like having a cup of tea and snack looking and listening. Not to mention the journey to get there.

Your web site is extremly well done. Thank you for sharing.

    Bill

    Hey there,
I love waterfalls too. Here are a few that you can find on a map in the fundy region: Crooked Creek falls, Memel falls (2), in fundy Nat. Park Dickson falls, Third Vault falls & Laverty falls. There is also an underground lake in Hillsborough on the Albert mines road.
You can also look at the South Nepisiguit river in the Bathurst Miramichi area.

hi nicholas, i had a great meeting with the premier shawn ghaham, and he is very excited about my project to have waterfalls located in new brunswick become a tourist attraction in its self. he has provided a tourism represenative to help. I have asked this represenative for a presentation from our watershed association in the first or second week in november. I want to do a professional show and tell ,so convincing no one gould ever say no. I am starting to put my program of presentation together now. I will be asking other provinces and states to share their waterfall tourist programs with me. I want you as part of my resource team, can I count on you ? yes I know I can. I would like to meet with you as soon as possible to discuss stratagy and see where you think this project should go. ps this is a private communication with you a can not be shared with anyone else at this time ,. thanks again ,robin.

    Hello Nicholas,

I am an avid whitewater kayaker and have been looking at your site as inspiration to go run some new ones. We have run rivers in the Fundy area such as the 45 and goose creek as well as Quiddy if your ever near saint john Lepreau falls is just of the highway close to point leprau.

    cheers,

Hi … the falls that my father is talking about is on the Nackawic Stream near Nortondale on Highway # 585. It is very close to the bridge known as Millseat(M480) in York County. i am still planning on looking into tours out of the city … I am going to approach some of the taxi companys.

Hi Nicholas, great display of your waterfalls at the fredericton public library. Just to give you a little update on the Oromocto watershed waterfall file; we have located nearly 200 waterfalls thus far and are recording the GPS locations for a spring shoot. We will be featuring 6 waterfalls with signage ,and cordinate with the support of the town of Oromocto this spring. We have retained a volunteer researcher to investigate how vermont and maine promote their waterfalls as attractions; including liability protection and their legislation relating to public access. this data will be collected and presented to tourism dept at a June meeting. When we have the draft form I would like to have your input ,it would be very much appreciated. Nicholas I have just finished writing a discussion paper on the new forestry harvest policies and watershed protection policies- recently released by the province of new brunswick, I would like you to read it ,there is much to be worried about. Nobody out there seems to be concerned about the green zone protecting our streams ,lakes and rivers. Thanks for all your great work in promoting waterfalls and new Brunswick as the picture province. Robin Hanson, president of the Oromocto Watershed Association.

    Hi Nick

As you know, Wayne and I are avid geocachers (2700 finds in total)and we both really enjoy the outdoors and waterfall scenes. I quickly went to a few of your photos in York County and yes, we have been to a few of these. We really appreciate have the Latitude and Longitude listed so we can use this website as a resource for future caching. Since cachers enjoy the outdoors, we will certainly spread the words to the ones we know. Please continue including the North and Western Co-ordinates.

Thanks for all your hard work. May I suggest that you contact someone from geocaching.com and maybe they would be able to designate an icon on their web maps.
