hi.. Thanks to you and your book i have discovered a love i never knew I had. I just discovered my love of waterfalls and for the rock formations.I also love hiking. I have only been to three different ones that are in my community but fell in love with waterfalling. Someday I hope to see all the ones that are listed in your book. We have such beauty in our own province and it is a shame to go thousands of miles away when you can see beautiful scenerey in your own back yard

I have read about a Redden Falls at N45 36' 36.54", W65 51' 3.04" near Long Point, Kingston Peninsula. From the photos it looks good.

Hi Nick!

I got your guidebook & the original Waterfalls of NB for Father's Day and immediately set out the next day to find Garden Creek Falls, as my granddaughter, Mallory attends Garden Creek School. I was impressed that I had been driving by that site and never knew one of natures treasures was at my door step!!

So we decided to make Split Rock Falls our Family hike today. Eight of us from 7 - almost 70!! Headed out w/GPS in hand. Being an old soldier, time in reconnaissance is seldom wasted. So on Saturday I followed your directions to take the service road and drove as far as the gravel went. I started hiking and came up against the deer fence so i back tracked and headed off to find the falls. Looking left (downstream)from the new highway span, I couldn't see anything that look like the falls. Arguing with the GPS that the falls were downstream, I went right for 30 minutes. Very pleasant hike along and through Jewett's Creek,I didn't come across the falls so i headed back to the car. In the process i ended up going through a raspberry thicket and have the cuts to prove it.

So on Sunday, our band of eight when done to Jewett's Cove and started heading upstream contrary to the GPS coordinates! So we decided to take the tunnel through to Jewett's Cove and the fish ladder built a couple of years ago...but no Split Rock Falls!! So my conclusion is that it was buried under the new culverts and pipes that run under the old river road.

No falls meant I had to come up with Plan B and try to find Kitchen Falls! That was a treat and with all the rain recently, the Falls were splendid. The hike was deemed a success and everyone enjoyed the day, but I was left with the burning question... what has happened to Split Rock Falls?

Enjoying your book and the anecdotes for each of the Falls. As my daughter said, "Only 45 more to go!!"

Thanks very much for sharing all these lovely treasures in one convenient guidebook complete with directions. I now have a new passion!

Ciao!

Hi Nicholas.

Thanks loads for this super site.

I have one nit-picky observation: When I attended UNB back in the 70s and 80s, I was taught that the proper spelling of the basic S.I. unit of length is "metre," not "meter." I believe the official U.S. spelling is, in fact, "meter," but most of the rest of the world (including Canada) uses "metre" for the unit of length while reserving "meter" to refer to a device that measures something. Here's a web site that bears out my claim: .

Keep up your good work. And I hope you get back to Walton Glen Falls sometime when it's in fuller flow. I happened upon it once, following a heavy rainfall, and I assure you it's very impressive.

Grace and shalom,

I have to say falls brook falls has been the one that hold the best memory, me and my girlfriend decided to hike the waterfall up along the right hand side. It was a hard hike but the view from the top of the falls made it all worth it, Sitting about 20 feet above the tree tops, with the water rushing over the rock. I love it, aswell did she. I was curious though, the picture you have at the top of the page, which waterfall is that? Id liek to check that one out, Monday we went to howland falls, it was very nice, this friday were heading to st john county to check out a few others. thanks again, Your website is amazing, and you are great with photography, an inspiration to me thats for sure.

Hi. I enjoyed listening to you talk to Terry Seguin this morning. I tried to remember the name of the creek you mentioned near the end, one that runs into the Little Salmon River. I don't know if you meant in St. John Co. Could you let me know the name of that creek please. Do you know of a brook in Studholm parish that used to be called Stones Brook? I can't wait to buy your book. Thank you. JKennedy

Hi/bonjour, You must be congratulated, the art of bringing the waterfalls of NB to public knowledge and appreciation of their beauty in the abounding nature. Have seen a few in your book, you offer a wonderful challenge to get to see many of the others. I saw the Benjamain when I was a kid, it was easier to get to in the late 40s.
How can we persuade the government to open the Charlo Falls as a beautiful passive nature park? Listen to music of the falls and contemplate the best of nature.

Hi Nick,
I really enjoyed your slide presentation at the Bathurst library and your book "Waterfalls of New Brunswick." Send me an e-mail and I will send you info on the Falls of the Southeast Upsalquitch River. If you send me the coordinates for Taylor Brook I can plan a trip to different falls in that area. To get to Taylor Meadow we would travel 9-10 km on the Hickey Road. There may be many falls in that area, since the brooks all feed into the Lower South Branch of the Jacket River. The South Branch flows in a very steep valley. There is also the Jacquet River Falls, located on the upper part of the main Jacket River. While doing my owl surveys, I will check out some of this falls for you.
Cheers,
Rod
